Man dies after crashing into rock cliff

A man died Wednesday following a single-vehicle accident in Pike County, Ky.

According to a press release from Kentucky State Police Public Affairs Officer Shaun Little, KSP Post 9 in Pikeville received a call of an accident involving one vehicle on U.S. 460 in the Yellow Hill community.

Jackie Jones Jr., 51, address unavailable, was traveling east on U.S. 460 when he apparently crossed the centerline and struck a rock cliff, the release stated.

Jones Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene by Pike County Deputy Coroner Denver Bailey.

This accident remains under investigation by KSP Trooper Jason McLellan.
