Clayton Lee Hatfield, 54 of Hardy, Ky. passed away Monday, January 26, 2009 at the Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born April 8, 1954 in Williamson, WV the son of Wanda Lee Dotson Hatfield of Hardy, Ky. and the late Frank Hatfield. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Sherman Hatfield and grandparents, Bessie and Sherman Hatfield and Bob and Myrl Sullivan.
Clayton was a disabled coal miner and truck driver, a member of Williamson Moose Lodge #1613 and Loyal Order of the Elks Lodge #1408. He was of the Church of God faith and a veteran of the US Army having served in the Vietnam War.
Besides his Mother, he is survived by his wife, Brigitte Wolf Hatfield of Hardy, Ky., one son, Tommy (Tracie) Hatfield of Forest Hills, Ky. and two daughters, Karen (Doug) Bentfield of Sellersburg, Ind. and Renee (George) Phelps of Bloomington, Ill. Four sisters Ruth (Paul) Warner of Melbourne, Austrailia, Mary Kaye (Timmy) Williamson of Forest Hills, Ky., Kathy Long and special friend, Earl Thorpe of Hardy, Ky. and June (Randy) Chap.m.an of McVeigh, Ky., two brothers, Robert (Debbie) Hatfield of Blackbeerry, Ky. and Brian (Lisa) Hatfield of Hardy, Ky. and five grandchildren, Hannah and Dalton Hatfield, Olivia Bentfield, Jocelyne and Jovie Phelps.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2009 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home, Belfry with Edd Lockard officiating. Burial will follow in the Dotson Cemetery, Ransom, Ky. Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Rogers Funeral Home with special services 7 p.m. Thursday night with Jeff Tackett officiating. Belfry Chapter #141 will conduct Military Graveside Services. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. R.E. Rogers Funeral Home, Belfry, Ky. is in charge of arrangements.
