Alton Mounts, 72, of Delbarton, passed away April 20, 2012, at the Cabell Huntington Hospital.

He was born May 11, 1939, at Wharncliffe, the son of the late Curtis and Hazel Hatfield Mounts.

He was also preceded in death by sons, Columbus Oliver and Cletis Mounts; and brother, Rayburn Mounts.

He was a retired coal miner.

He is survived by his wife, Joann Ray Mounts; sons, Curtis Mounts and Robert Mounts both of Texas, Lonnie Mounts of Switzer; daughters, Deborah Hall of Williamson, Unona Burton and Hazel Gray both of Texas; bothers, Cletis Mounts of Delbarton, Marion Mounts of Turkey Creek, Ky., Charles Mounts of Wharncliffe; sister, Bessie Lanning of Tennessee; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday April 24, at 11 a.m. at the Chafin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Denny May officiating. Burial will follow in the Ray Cemetery at Taylorville. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday evening from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.
