Ersie V. Hensley Puckett, 79, of Belfry, Ky., passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012, in the Williamson Memorial Hospital.

Born March 16, 1933, at Pilgrim, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Vernice and Anthry (Bryant) Hensley.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Roscoe Puckett; one son, Jeff Puckett; one daughter, Mickey Rae Puckett; and one brother, Earl “Buddy” Hensley.

She was a Special Education Teacher Aide for the Pike County Board of Education and was a member of the Nolan Freewill Baptist Church.

Ersie is survived by two sons, Leck (Juanita) Puckett of Lovely, Ky., and Rocky (Bridgett) Puckett of Borderland; five daughters, Susan (Larry) Savage of Jackson, Ga., Jane (Mark) Martin Adams of Taylor, Mich., Melissa (Toby) Hatfield of Chattaroy, Jackie (Jimmy) Hanny of Belfry, Ky., and Penny (Jim) Williams of Dearborn, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of loving friends.

Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at the R.E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel, Belfry, with Ray Taylor and Earl White officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Maher, with Larry Savage, Michael Puckett, Toby Hatfield, Jimmy Hanny, Cameron Hanny, John Martin, Mark Booth and Jonathan Williams serving as Pallbearers. Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Friday evening with special services at 7 p.m. with Terry Harmon officiating.
