Audra Erwin Calton, 77, of Delbarton, went to follow Jesus on her journey home, while a patient at the Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City, Tenn.
She was born August 11, 1934, at Lando, the daughter of the late Van and Rebecca Jude Erwin.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Calton; brothers, Bernard, Robie and Charles Erwin; sister, Anna Mae Hatfield; sister-in-law, Betty Erwin.
Audra was the long time owner of Audra’s Restaurant. While a student in high school she started working at Aunt Mary’s Restaurant. She later became the owner and changed the name to Audra’s. She served the students of BHS and the Delbarton Community for more than 37 years. Her passion for the love of sports both football and basketball at BHS was present at every game. She was the most loyal Burch High School fan ever. At the closing Burch High School she was presented with a plaque by Coach Mike Smith proclaiming her as BHS most loyal fan. She continued her love for sports attending nearly every football and basketball game at MCHS. Audra was also a longtime member of the America United Baptist Church.
Those left behind to cherish her memories include her son, Craig Scott (Anita) Erwin; brothers, Brady (Janice) Erwin, Bruce (Pat) Erwin, Van Jr. (Earlene) Erwin all of Columbus, Ohio; Hershel (Lucille) Erwin of Vermillion, Ohio, Doug (Karen) Erwin of Delbarton, sisters, Toni (Mickey) Cozmyk of Norwalk, Ohio, Donna (Ira) Simpkins of Dandridge, Tenn.; granddaughters, Brianne (Dan) Erwin of Vancouver, Wash., Sarah (Joseph) Vance of Logan; sister-in-law, Sheila Erwin of Delbarton; brother-in-law, Rush Hatfield of Columbus. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday April 15, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Benny Fitch and Elder Eddie Layne officiating. Burial will follow in the Erwin Cemetery at Lando. Visitation will be at the Chafin Funeral Home Chapel Saturday evening from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. with services starting at 7 p.m. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
