EAST HARDY 10, MINGO CENTRAL 3

MAN - Tyler Mongold tossed a complete game and drove in four runs for Class A No. 2 East Hardy in the Man Round Robin to beat Mingo Central 10-3 on Friday.

Mongold struck out six and was 3-for-4 at the plate with three doubles for the Cougars (11-1). Cody Walker was 3-for-3 with a double and Kollin Foltz was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Korey Foltz 3-for-4.

Jacob Staton had two RBIs and Joe May was 2-for-4 with two doubles for the Miners.

BELFRY 4, PIKE CENTRAL 1

JOHNS CREEK, Ky. – The Belfry Pirates improved to 9-4 on the season with a 4-1 district win over Pike Central on Saturday.

The Hawks took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first, however Belfry scored two runs in the bottom of the third to take the lead. The Pirates got two more runs in the bottom of the 7th inning for insurance.

Jared Masters struck out 10 batters and picked up the win for coach Mike Hagy. Zack Francisco, Howie Dotson, Tyler Williams, Keagan Fields and Madison Ghormley all had base hits for Belfry. Doston had an RBI and scored two of Belfry’s runs. Ghormley also had an RBI for BHS. Francisco also walked and scored Belfry’s first run.
