PIKEVILLE, Ky. - According to information provided by Grondall Potter, Manager with the Mountain Water District (MWD) in Pikeville, a boil water advisory has been issued to protect a portion of their customers against potential bacteria contamination, due to a water line break.
If you reside in the vicinity of the old U.S. 119 community that includes Route 194 East, up to the mouth of Meathouse and all side hollows, you are affected by this break and should be mindful of the advisory.
Water used for drinking or cooking purposes should be heated at a rolling boil for at least three minutes, minimum.
This advisory will remain in effect until further notice.
If you have questions or concerns about this matter, please contact MWD at 606-631-9162.
