Blankenship

Genetta Blankenship, 65, of Freeburn, Ky., died Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at Williamson Memorial Hosptal.

Born Feb. 12, 1945, in Pike County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Carl and Beatrice Layne Hardin.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at R.S. Jones Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at the Community Cemetery at Freeburn, Ky.

Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at the chapel, with special services at 7 p.m.

Arrangements are under the direction of R.S. Jones Funeral Home of Phelps, Ky.

Raeanna Hurley

Raeanna Marie Hurley, 18 of North Matewan, passed away Friday, Nov. 5, 2010 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

She was born Aug. 20, 1992 in Williamson.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Billy Ray Hurley Sr. and her maternal grandparents Alex and Anna Mae Mitchell.

Raeanna was a senior at Burch High School and a member of the Tug River Freewill Baptist Church at Sprigg.

Survivors include her father Billy Ray (Angie Cox) Hurley Jr. of Meador; her grandmother and adoptive mother Shirley Hurley of North Matewan; her biological mother Wendy Mitchell (Neil Ratliff) Hurley of Pikeville, Ky.; two brothers: Sidney Ryan Hurley and Billy Ray Hurley III - both of the home; one sister: Kristan Paige Hurley - of the home; two step-brothers: Alex Vagott and Brandon Vagott - both of Meador; a half- brother: Robert Kyle Rife of North Matewan; a half-sister: Paula Ferguson of Delbarton; uncle: Woodrow (Yvonne) Hurley of Blackberry City; special cousin: Brianna Hurley of Blackberry City; special friend: Vanessa Belcher of Blackberry City; a dear friend and her principal Mrs. Jada Hunter; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, Ky. with Pastor Bobby Stiltner officiating. Burial will follow in the Blankenship Cemetery at Lindsey with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with special services at 7 p.m. with Roscoe Blackburn officiating.
