Heat wins Buddy League championship

The Heat won the A-Team Division of the Williamson Buddy League. They are pictured above: Front Row, Bailey Hensley, Isabel Johnson and Hannah Scales. Back Row, Jonah Adkins, Timothy “T” Epling, Kaleb Hensley, Camron Stafford, Dylan Brag and Blake Adkins.


WILLLIAMSON – The Heat won the A-Division in the Williamson Buddy League on Sunday after a weekend of tourney action at the Williamson Fieldhouse.

The Heat is coached by Jeff Adkins and Joe Stafford and they defeated the Warriors 49-39 on Sunday afternoon making it back-to-back titles for them.

Blake Adkins led the Heat with 18, while Jonah Adkins scored 16 and Camron Stafford 10 to lead their squad in scoring.

Other team members for the Heat are Bailey Hensley, Isabel Johnson, Hannah Scales, Timothy “T” Epling, Kaleb Hensley, and Dylan Bragg.

Dredan Young had 18 to lead the Warriors, while Dane Hatfield scored nine. The Warriors are coached by Joey Elia and George Swain.

The B and C Division tournaments will be played next weekend.

The awards for all basketball divisions and cheerleaders will take place after the final game next Sunday.

Scoring:

Warriors: Dredan Young 18, Dane Hatfield 9, Donovan Hall 2, Isaac Elia 2, Jazzy Cline 1,Patrick Hall 2, Alvin Marcum 4.

Heat: Blake Adkins 18, Jonah Adkins 16, Camron Stafford 10, Kaleb Hensley 3, Timothy Epling 2.
