George Swain: Player of the Week


George Swain of State Farm Insurance and the Williamson Daily News is proud to present the Player of the Week. This week’s Player of the Week is Phelps’s defensive back Seth Elkins. In the Hornets latest win 38-0 shutout over Hannan, W.Va. Elkins secured his fifth interception of the season ranking him third in the state in Class-A for interceptions. Elkins has been pivotal to he Hornets defensive success all year with 47 tackles, three fumble recoveries with three forced fumbles and 12 passes broken up, he’s only a sophomore. Elkins has led the Hornets in tackles four times this season and finished last game with an interception, six tackles, and a forced fumble.
