The Mingo Central Miners remain No. 4 in Class AA in the latest SSAC poll that was released Tuesday afternoon.

The Tug Valley Panthers come in at No. 18 in Class A, moving up a couple of spots this week.

Both squads are coming off wins last weekend. Mingo Central, now 6-0, rolled over the winless Poca Dots 62-20, while Tug Valley (4-3) ran past Valley of Fayette 30-6.

The Miners will host No. 10 Chapmanville (5-2) this Friday, while Tug Valley will entertain Mount View. MCHS is one of four teams without a loss in Class AA. There are six teams in Class A that are undefeated, while Martinsburg is the only school left in AAA without a loss.

The top 16 teams in each classification make the playoffs and the top eight schools host first round playoff games. Most teams have four games remaining in the regular season, while some have only three left.

The top team in Class AA is Fairmont Senior, then Bridgeport is No. 2, followed by Point Pleasant and Mingo Central. Sissonville moved up to No. 6, followed by James Monroe, North Marion and Nicholas County rounds out the top eight.
