Joplin to be “knighted”

Pictured above is Mingo Central running back Deonte Joplin signing his letter of intent to play football this upcoming fall with Kentucky Christian University. Joplin is surrounded by family and friends, the signing took place on the KCU campus. Joplin was helped in his recruiting by his family member David Jones, pictured to his left. He excelled as the teams leading rusher during his senior season at Mingo Central. Joplin said, “When I first heard I had received an offer to play and further my education I was nervous. The close it got the more nervous I became until I went to the campus and the coaches and staff made it feel like a home away from home. I am confident in my abilities and since I have received my summer workout package I can see I have my work cut out for me. I would like to thank David Jones for helping me through deciding where to play and helping me do things right. I am excited to battle as a Knight!”
