Mingo getting warmed up

WILLIAMSON – The Mingo Central Miners are about to break even, for the season, after they defeated the Ambassador Christian Academy (ACA) Eagles by a final score of 19-4 on Tuesday.

The Miners move up to a record of 2-3 after the win. The Miners had been up and down since last week after they lost by 17 runs to Chapmanville. Head Coach Jared Lester helped the Miners stage a rebound against Phelps, winning 4-1, then losing to Herbert Hoover over the weekend by getting blanked 10-0. The Miners pulled together an impressive showing against the Eagles scoring 16 runs in the first two innings.

Mingo ended the game ahead by 15 runs at the end of five innings. Butcher started the game on the mound for the Miners while Dotson closed out the game. The Miners finished the night with 23 hits against ACA’s pitcher,Rhakim Grey.

The Miners are scheduled to travel to Wayne on Wednesday evening and then host Van on Thursday. The game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
