The West Virginia Mountaineers (26-8) have been awarded the #3 seed in the East Region in the 2016 NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament. The Mountaineers, who advanced to the Big 12 Conference Tournament finals before losing to Kansas, will place Southland Conference champions Stephen F. Austin on Friday in Brooklyn, New York. The #14 seed Lumberjacks advance to the tournament with a 27-5 record.

The winner of Friday’s game will advance to the round of 32 on Sunday to face the winner of a game between 6-seed Notre Dame and a play-in game between Tulsa and Michigan.
