MATEWAN – The United States Powerlifting federation (USPF) and Old School Fitness present The Tug River Throw Down to Matewan W.Va. on Sunday, July 12th.
The event will be held at Old School Fitness located at the former Matewan High School. Ages 13 and over will be available to enter. A valid USPF card is required to enter, however cards will be available to wishful contenders for a fee. Four divisions are available for entry, junior,open, sub-master, master. The junior division will range in age from 13 to 23, the open division will be ages 24 to 34, the sub-master division will include ages 35 to 39 and master will range from 40 and up.
A multitude of weight classes will be available for men and women. Men starting at weight 114 and ascending, women starting at weight 97 and ascending. A first, second and third place prize will be awarded to winners of each division and weight class.
The weigh ins will begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 12th. There will be a five dollar entry fee for spectators at the door.
