Lady Panthers beat Lady Bulldogs 48-44 in first win

NAUGATUCK — Emily Colegrove and the Tug Valley Lady Panthers won their first game against the Van Lady Bulldogs on Monday night by a final score of 48-44.

Colegrove scored 16 points in the Lady Panthers first win of the season. Tug Valley controlled the first half of the game and that proved to be enough for vistory.

Tug Valley outscored Van 9-4 in the first period and then 14-10 in the second period. The Lady Panthers nine point lead heading into halftime would be cut into by the Lady Bulldogs during the second half.

Tug Valley continued by outscoring Van in the third period, but not by a lot.

The final period belonged to the Lady Bulldogs as they outscored Tug Valley 18-16 in the last Period. The effort by the Lady Bulldogs was too little, too late and the Lady Panthers took away the win.

Van: 4 10 12 18 – 44
