WILLIAMSON – The Williamson Wolfpack Boys’ Basketball Team picked up an out-of-county win against Hamlin on Saturday, 43-34 and backed it up with a county win versus the undefeated Gilbert Lions.
“We have started to play better as a team,” Head Coach Larry “Giddle” Johnson said. “The first few games we have split in the county, but didn’t trust in our own skills.”
Josh Wellman has led the Wolfpack in scoring filling the books at 25 points a game. Against Hamlin, Wellman had 26 followed by Ryan DeBoard with seven points. Wellman also led The Wolfpack with 30 points and 12 steals vs the Lions of Gilbert, and Jarius Jackson with six points, and Chandler Burgess with 5 points.
“It’s early in the season and we will get better each game,” added Johnson.
The Lady Pack beat the Lady Lions of Gilbert 56-18. Gilbert is young and has a very good coach (Taylor).
“They will be a force, believe me,” said Coach Hatcher. The Pack was led by Javi Williams with 12 points; with 12 of the 16 players scoring.
