Mingo rises up rankings after win

WILLIAMSON – Mingo Central jumped up a few spots this week in WVSSAC rankings after their latest win against Chapmanville. The Miners are ranked 6th in Class AA in the state and Chapmanville fell to 7th. Tolsia is ranked number two behind Bridgeport.

The top four teams in the Cardinal Conference are represented in the state rankings. Tolsia, Mingo Central, Chapmanville and Herbert Hoover are all within the top 16 teams in the state in class AA.

Tug Valley is now ranked 11th in the state class A rankings after winning two straight games. The Panthers lost two in a row, one to Tolsia and one to Buffalo. With a record of 6-2 the Panthers hope to win out and rank as high as 8th so they can host the first playoff game.
