INEZ, K.y.– The Tug Valley Panthers roll into a record of 4-0 after their latest win against the Sheldon Clark Cardinals on Friday night. The Panthers won the game by a score of 41-0.
Tug Valley controlled the game the entire way through, Phillip Lucas started off the scoring with a 7-yard touchdown run with 10:43 left to go in the first quarter. Jeremy Dillon added the extra point kick.
Dillon topped of the first quarter with an 11-yard touchdown run with 28 seconds left. The extra point kick was no good and the first quarter ended with the Panthers up 13-0.
With 34 seconds left to go before the end of the first half Lucas scored again when he punched it in from 1-yard out. Tyler Conley converted the two point conversion with a pass to Corbin Oliver. The Cardinals tried to throw past the defense right before halftime but Calvin Blankenship intercepted the pass and returned the ball 78-yards to pay dirt to make the score at the half 27-0.
Dillon scored the next touchdown with 6:37 left to go in the third quarter on a 24-yard run. Jonathan Blankenship added the two point conversion to make the score 35-0.
Tyler Workman added the final score for the Panthers from a 4-yard run to seal the win for Tug Valley and make the final score 41-0.
The Panthers held the Cardinals to only 71-yards on 30 carries and completely shut down the passing game for zero completions on seven passing attempts. Dillon led the Panthers with five tackles, one sack and one interception. Ike Starr added four tackles, two of which were for a loss of yardage, and added one sack.
Offensively, the rushing attack was led by Dillon and Lucas. Dillon rushed seven times for 80-yards and added two rushing touchdowns. Lucas had nine carries for 40-yards and two touchdowns. Calvin Blankenship had two receptions for 55-yards.
Next week the Panthers will travel to Tolsia to face the Rebels.
