PHELPS, Ky. - A Pawpaw, Ky., man is missing, and his wife fears for his life.
Landon Wolford, 29, was last seen walking beside the highway in the Pawpaw community, near Phelps Monday, Aug. 27.
Crystal Wolford, Landon’s wife, said she had seen him earlier that day.
“I saw him at Phelps Elementary School,” Crystal said. “Then he went to his mothers and left his truck there.”
He was seen after that, at approximately 5 p.m., at Pawpaw.
Crystal said the couple had been separated, and that she is staying in Matewan while Landon remained in Pawpaw. She said she thought Landon was suicidal, that he had attempted suicide recently.
“He overdosed, I found him in my trailer, about three or four weeks ago,” she said. “I thought he was better, but we hadn’t seen each other for a while.”
The couple has two children, three and two years of age.
Landon is a coal miner by trade, although his wife said he is not currently employed.
Landon is 6’2” and weighs 170 pounds. He has blue eyes and dark blond hair, cut very short. He has a tattoo of a tribal eagle on his left arm, and a tattoo of a Japanese symbol on his right shoulder, his wife said. When he was last seen he was wearing a blue work shirt with reflective stripes.
If anyone has any information, they are asked to call the Kentucky State Police at 606 433-7711 or Crystal Wolford at 304 426-4047.
