The General Federation of Women’s Clubs of West Virginia (GFWCWV) held its 106th Annual General Convention at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, March 23-25.
Carol Allen, of Princeton, was installed as president for 2012-2014.
The theme for her term will be “Brighten The Way For Others.” The President’s Special Project for this administration will be the Juvenile Diabetes Camp, Kno-Koma. This camp is just outside Lewisburg, and children attend this camp one week out of the year.
GFWCWV is also promoting the American Diabetes Association. This association strives to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
The Williamson club will be working on projects to assist with these state projects. T he mission of the GFWC is to enhance the lives of others through volunteer service.
Several members of the Williamson Woman’s Club attended the convention. The Williamson club received the Superior and Honor Club Awards, certificates for participation in the HOBY, Rhododendron, Public Issues and Education programs.
