TOLER, Ky. - Heavy thunderstorms came through the area Monday morning causing flash flooding in the Toler, Ky. area.
This is an area that has been hit numerous times in the past by flooding, due to the low lying area. Pond Creek overswelled its banks blocking the entrance to this area, which goes toward the Hardy, Ky. area.
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for several communities including Belfry, Forest Hills, Turkey Creek, South Williamson, Buskirk and Toler.
The Belfry Volunteer Fire Department responded to the area with their swift water rescue equipment and several firefighters.
The Williamson Daily News will have more on this story as it develops or the waters recede.
