Scott E. Hager, 34, a resident of Ransom, Ky., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington.

He was born July 7, 1975 in Williamson, the son of Frank Dana Hager, Sr., of Ransom and Kathy West of North Matewan.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother and grandfather James and Beatrice Hager of Ransom and his maternal grandmother and grandfather Ida Mae Ernest and Glen Ernest of Hardy, Ky.

He was of the Primitive Baptist faith.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters: James (Priscilla) Hager of Phelps, Ky.; Wanda (Lenis) Testerman of Ransom; Doris (Doug) Greer of Helen; Freda (Lonnie) Hatfield of Bolt; Keith (Patty) Hager of Ransom; Kristie West of Burnwell, Ky.; Kandace West of North Matewan; Terry West, Timothy West, and Tracey West all of North Matewan; Frank Dana Hager, Jr. of Ransom; Jessie Ryan Hager of Lexington, Ky.; and Austin Lee Hager of Forest Hills, Ky.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He is also survived by a special friend, Brandon “Smiley” Hager of Ransom.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. at the R.S. Jones and Son Funeral Home of Phelps. with Chad Crawford, Unice Davis, and Aaron Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Alley Cemetery at Ransom.

Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6 at the R.S. Jones and Son Funeral Home with services at 7 p.m.

Arrangements are under the direction of the R.S. Jones and Son Funeral of Phelps.
