Phyllis Jean Stump, 73, of Freeburn, Ky., died Saturday, October 31, 2009 at South Williamson ARH Hospital.

She was born February 28, 1936, at Freeburn, Ky., to the late Russell and Victoria “Vick” Ratliff.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis is preceded in death by her loving husband Ermal Ray “Rusty” Stump, daughter Marsha Lynn Ferrell, and brother Luther Ratliff.

Phyllis was retired having worked as a US Postmaster and was of the Apostolic faith.

She is survived by sons Jerry Keith (Lynn) Stump and Jamie (Kathy) Stump both of Georgetown, Ky.; brother Russell Jr. “Buddy” Ratliff of Phelps, Ky.; sisters Helen Mayhorn of Freeburn, Ky., Mildred Sanders of Taylor, Mich., Ruby Griffon of Warren, Mich., and Joan Gillespie of Seneca, S.C.; five grandchildren — Jaime, Matt, Dustin, Shawn, and Joshua, and one great grandchild, Makena.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 12 p.m., at Church of God In Jesus Name of Phelps, Ky., with Rev. Opie Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Daugherty Cemetery at Freeburn, Ky., with family and friends acting as pallbearers.

The Family will begin receiving friends on Monday, November 2, 2009, at the Church beginning at 6 p.m., with a special services beginning at 7 p.m.
