The Lenore Middle School Rangers has now added girl’s volleyball to it’s sports teams. The Rangers had fifty-eight girls trying out for only twenty-two positions for the junior varsity and varsity volleyball teams.
“The turnout was exceptional,” said Coach Pam Chapman. “It was really hard to select twenty-two girls when everyone gave it one hundred percent. Legally you can have six on the floor and sixteen on the bench. I decided to go this route and keep as many as I could.”
Chapman encourages all girls to consider volleyball when choosing to play a sport, whether or not they’ve played sports previously.
“Some of my better players had never played any sport and volleyball can be learned. I am learning everyday myself,” continued Chapman.
The coach went out to say she was thankful for a great season and thanked the players, the parents, the understanding referees, and also included Coach Rick Mounts, Assistant Coach Hayle Ward, Greg Chapman, Greta Milum, and Lenore Middle School’s principal, Sabrina Runyon.
