John W. Copley, 61, of Goodman, died at William-son Memorial Hospital on July 6, 2009.

Born March 30, 1948, in Rawl, he was the son of the late Woodrow Copley and Virginia Marcum Copley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John W. Copley, Jr., and a brother, Larry Copley.

John was a former employee of the City of Williamson.

John is survived by his former wife, Partheina Ellis Copley of Williamson, one son, Steve Copley of Williamson and two step-sons, William (Lisa) Ellis, Ashland, Ky. and Joey (Georgetta) Ellis also of Ashland; two brothers, Paul (Della) Copley, Belfry, Ky., and Benny Ray Copley, Winchester, Ky.; two sisters, Sally Burnette, Floyd, Va. and Pamela Ward, Warfield, Ky.; a brother-in-law, Clinton Ellis, Goodman; six grandchildren, Jason, Luke and Aaron Ellis, Amy Dawn Ellis, Crystal Smith and William Ellis, Jr., as well as two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for family members and friends will be held at the Alley Cemetery at a later date.
