Joe Kirk Jr., 76, of Williamson, passed away October 17, 2012, at the Logan Regional Hospital.
He was born September 14, 1936, at Good Hollow the son of the late Lyle and Iva Haire Kirk.
He was also preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Mary Elizabeth Bateman Kirk; brothers, Jack, Hobert, Bud and George Kirk; sisters, Joey Dean and Virginia Tony.
Jr. was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. The stories he told of his life will forever be cherished in our hearts. Joe was retired from the Appalachian Regional Hospital having worked in the service department.
Those left behind to cherish his memories include his children, Kevin and Susan of Belo, Larry and Rhonda of Williamson, and Timothy and Jennifer of Teaberry, Ky.; grandchildren, Jessie, Jonathan, Marlena, Drew, Candice, Timmy, Deana, Eric and Chase.
Funeral services will be held Friday evening October 19, at the Chafin Funeral Home Chapel at 7 p.m. with Bro. Jack Meade and the Rev. Roger Ooten officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday evening. In honoring Jr.’s wishes there will be no burial. He will be cremated.
