Ernest Pack Sr., 63, of Beech Creek, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012, in Princeton.
Born February 3, 1949 at Devon, he was the son of the late Oscar and Etta Murphy Pack Sr.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Shelly Pack; two sisters, Nellie Coulter and Anna Lee Gilliam; and two brothers Robert and Carl Pack.
Ernest was a disabled coal miner from Old Ben Coal Company, and he was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict as a member of the CoC 802D Engineer Division.
Survivors include one son, Ernest (Jennifer) Pack Jr. of Princeton; one daughter, Kelly (Jeremy) Tolliver of Princeton; his friend and mother, of his children Ada Jean Pack Sylvester of Princeton; three grandchildren KaLeigh Denise Tolliver, Madison MyKell “MyKie” Tolliver, and Adan Johnny Duane Tolliver; six brothers Charles “Buck” (Dana) Pack of Princeton, Woodrow Pack of Powhatan, Va., Oscar “Halo” (Pam) Pack Jr. of Beech Creek, Ray Pack of Richmond, Va., James (Phyllis) Pack of Beech Creek, Gerald (Rhodena) Pack of Beech Creek; six sisters Mary (Monroe) Hardin of Princeton, Opal Goad of Matewan, Shirley (Junior) Chandler of Lake City, Fla., Delores Hughes of Richmond, Va., Erma Jones of Powhatan, Va., and Barbara (Kenny) Varney of Newtown; like a sister Thelma Jean White of Cleveland, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 5, at 1 p.m. from the Beech Creek Free Pentecostal Church of God with Pastor David Ferguson and the Rev. Lowell Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in the Pack Cemetery at Devon, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, Ky. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the Beech Creek Free Pentecostal Church of God.
He loved and took care of his mother and father until their deaths, and he loved his wife, kids, and grandchildren dearly!
