Edna M. Clay, 97, of McArthur, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at Pickaway Manor Care Center in Circleville.

She was born April 7, 1915, in Wayne, daughter of the late Earl and Wilda Pack Rutherford Sr. Edna was the widow of the late Chester Clay.

She was a member of Blackburn Hill Church of Christ in Athens and was a former Eastern Star member.

Edna is survived by her sons, Charles (Mabel) Clay of Columbus, James (Ann) Clay of Florida, Robert (Christine) Clay of North Lewisburg, Curtis Clay of West Virginia and Chet Clay Jr. of McArthur; daughters, Kathryn (Frelan) Evans of West Virginia, Gay Salmons of Indiana, Bonnie (Harlow) Faulkner of Circleville, Karen (Gerald) Fadley of Columbus, Darlene (Bill) Taylor of McArthur and Ruth (Kent) Stacey of Kentucky; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a son-in-law, Wayne Talkington of McArthur.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death her daughter, Doreen Talkington; and her brother, Earl Rutherford Jr.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, August 18, in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Jack Abels officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
