A candlelight vigil was held last Friday night in honor of Mingo Central assistant coach John Fry at the Matewan Field. Many former players who played with Fry, along with players he coached and many from the Matewan community turned out for the event. Fry passed away unexpectedly last Thursday morning. His wake was held at the gym of MCHS Sunday night and the funeral was held there on Monday afternoon. Fry was a beloved coach and friend to many in the region.
