It was a split on Saturday night at the Blue/Gray Twin Rivers Classic at Gilbert's Larry Joe Harless Center.

In the boys' game, Matewan High School coach Phillip Mitchell and the Blue team routed the Gray 114-68.

The Gray took the girls' all-star game, 77-65, over the Blue.

The Twin Rivers Classic gathered the best senior basketball players from Logan, Mingo, McDowell, Wyoming, Wayne and Lincoln counties.

The Blue had an easy time in the boys' game with its size advantage and domination on the boards. The Blue also hit up the scoreboard with 14 3-pointers. The Gray was coached by Gilbert High School's Walt Cline, who led the Lions to this year's Class A state tournament.

The game was fairly close at the half with the Blue leading by just 10 points. The Blue, though, exploded in the second 20 minutes by outscoring the Grey team 65-29 to take the 46-point win.

The Blue placed six players in double figures led by Seth Merritt of Wayne, who had 24 points. Wayne's Chase Perry had 17, followed by Tug Valley's Nathan Brewer and Michael Evans and Logan's Jordan Canada who all had 16 points each. Logan's Bryce Dalton netted 11. Wayne's Caleb Webb had eight, and Matewan's Tyrone Prater had three.

Gilbert's Cody Houck led the Gray with 15 points. His teammates from Gilbert Dalton Bailey and Chris Carter tossed in 11 and 10 points respectively. Iaeger's Trevor Kennedy and Tolsia's Heath Stroud had eight points each while Man's Ryan Crum and Gilbert Josh Carter had six apiece. Iaeger's Landon Hurley had four points.

In the girls' game, Gilbert's Crystal Lester led the Gray to victory as she had a triple-double with 22 points, 11 steals and 10 rebounds. Tug Valley's Tabby Mounts also led the Gray team with 36 points, including seven 3-point baskets.

The Blue team placed three players in double digits, led by Tolsia Lady Rebel Rachel Webb, who had 23 points followed by teammate Amber Finley with 11. Burch's Hillary Church scored 10 in a losing effort. Rounding out the scoring for the winning Gray team was Iaeger's Ashley Gibson with seven, Tug Valley's Hailee Ward with six, Iaeger's Ali Carlan with four and Man's Rebecca Vance with two.

Rounding out the scoring for the Blue squad was Tolsia's Katie Lahada with nine points, Tolsia's Ashley VanHoose with five, Wayne's Ashley Willis with four and Burch's Kim Smith with three.

The Gray team only led by one point at the half, 34-33.
