To the editor:

I wish to write and express positive opinion.

First topic: our city. Our city police captain, the residents therein and the excellent leadership of our mayor.

Now, the Williamson Daily News has become, if not partners, at least supporters of the captain and his staff toward curtailing crime. I see this as a positive team work.

The new editor of the Daily News has revamped the news and sports departments. Kyle Lovern appears eager and ready to tackle all sports. Julia Goad, always with the news.

The County Commission is in harmony with the city toward projects for our youth. Great team work.

If Capt. Rockel’s health continues to mend and we’re fortunate enough to maintain our current mayor, I sincerely believe Williamson could become a model city, a top 10, USA.

I read the Williamson Daily News with great interest. Mae Stallard delivers positive and factual remarks, in conjunction with our almighty God. Mae taught our children (students) several years. Ed Lockard also writes factual work of the Lord. I had the pleasure of teaching Ed Lockard at the Hardy School, one fine young man.

I’m reading an article written by Mike Baisden and published in the Williamson Daily News, I donated a portion of time to his remarks.

I remain positive in my thoughts and writing. But, I can’t accept his version (research, facts) our state being below par in education and our students failure to be equal to children of other states. Our teachers strive daily to teach our children. The West Virginia students are dedicated to learning.

I didn’t do research Mr. Baisden, no way! I taught in the states of Kentucky and Michigan. I experienced the school system and the students of three states.

I actually was selected as a top ten teacher in the state of Michigan. I find all children to be praised. Don’t ever make or write remarks that might lead a child to think poorly of themselves.

Be ye positive in thoughts and words Mr. Baisden, please.
