BELO - A Wednesday afternoon collision resulted in more damage to vehicles than to those involved in the accident.

According to Mingo Sheriff’s Department Chief Field James Smith, 69-year-old Billy Sue Preece of Delbarton was driving her Ford Explorer with her husband Robert as a passenger. Preece entered US 119 at the intersection of St. Rte. 65 from Lenore, driving north. She pulled behind a scrap metal truck, Smith said, in the left lane of US 119.

When Preece attempted to pass the truck in the right lane, she collided with a Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Jordon Colegrove, 19, of Dingess, causing damage to the left side of the truck.

Smith said Robert Preece was transported by Stat Ambulance for medical attention, but his injuries did not appear to be serious. No citations were issued.

Smith was assisted on the scene by MCSD Sgt. Phillip Muncy.
