Wars, rumors of Wars, perilous times, famines, pestilence, hatred, bigotry, murder, robbery, showing forms of Godliness but denying His power; these are just a few of the specifics Scripture teaches will come to pass as this world continues to revolve and time passes by. Certainly all of the above are coming pass. All one has to do is spend five minutes watching the news or reading the newspaper and every item on the entire list would receive a checkmark.

The current state of the world seems to be filled with much hate. We look all around the globe and hatred has exposed itself in epidemic proportions. This is witnessed by an unprecedented number of people with access to multi-media. Hatred is spread as never before!

Then I remember. God is in control. 1 John 4:8 states that God is love. While so many forms of media are spreading hate around the world true love was displayed with one Man and His disciples several thousand years ago. They were able to spread the Good News of Christ and His Love with no electricity, no wi-fi, no television, no cell phones or land lines! The message of Love and Forgiveness spread like wildfire by the sheer power of the Holy Spirit and continues to do so today.

The message that Jesus Christ loves the world is spread today with various forms of media but the power of the message still comes from the Holy Spirit. So remember that even though the world feels ruled by hate, despair and hopelessness there is a love that conquers all hate, despair and hopelessness. It only comes from Jesus. The Bible tells us in Psalms 34:8 to taste and see that the Lord is good: The world needs more goodness.

The Tug Valley has been inconspicuous for years. We have been secluded in the Appalachian Mountains almost dormant. But in two months we have been ushered by the power of God to the forefront of a nation. Not only by the Awakening but also in the political world.

Finally the eyes of the world are upon us. This should not be too scary as the eyes of God have been on us since creation. Let us be careful to not spew hatred, bigotry and intolerance. Let us continue to show love. An Awakening is much more than meeting in a field house. The length of this Awakening will be decided by our actions and behavior outside of the field house, churches and other venues. Denominations are needed and are certainly represented by the picture painted of the Body of Christ in 1 Corinthians chapter 12. The body is one body but different functions are performed by the neck, arms, legs, etc… The quickest way to put this Awakening to sleep is for one denomination to think itself higher than others and consider themselves more important.

If we decide that one arm is more powerful than the other arm then the symmetry of the body is affected in a negative way. Romans 12 states 3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Let us be careful to remember no one denomination is higher than another. We all need each other. I was very impressed by the CBN piece regarding the Awakening in Williamson WV. The evangelist Matt Hartley was so careful during his interview making sure the Awakening was perceived as a Body of Christ movement and not a denominational movement. We should be very careful to follow his lead.

Blessings to all!
