Everyone wants to find the perfect person to love for a lifetime. Someone who is loyal and will always be there, especially in the most difficult moments. This person will spend quality time and continually treat a companion right. His or her needs will constantly be met, opinions valued, and conversations cherished. The love would be so passionate that an individual would even be willing to die for the other if necessary. Although there are many with great qualities, no one fits this description entirely. However, there is hope for us all to find a flawless love.
Such a coveted valentine may be found in Romans 8:38-39: “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” This scripture covers everything that can be found in heaven and earth. There isn’t anything that is stronger than the love of Christ and nothing can take us from it. It doesn’t matter what you are going through or where you have been. God loves you through the thick and thin, through the good and the ugly, and even in your most wretched moments. This power can break every chain that binds, conquer all evil, and demolish every one of our excuses. The love of Christ is unlike any other and can lift us out of the darkest sin.
This fervent devotion is powerful enough to cover the world but still encompass the individual. Although there are over 6 billion people on the planet, he still knows your name. God is intimately acquainted with you and can number the hairs on your head. He meets the perfect description of love that exceeds all standards. Jesus always has the time, will never leave us, and will take care of all our needs. Also, he was the only one who died for us so we could have a relationship with God. Anyone can give you lip service but only Christ keeps all his promises. The Gospel is the perfect Valentine story where anyone can find true love. It was already displayed on the cross and extended to all mankind. Now it is up to us to receive it and share it with others.
