We are entering a time of the year that is so emotional for a number of people. Many young students across this country are graduating from High School, including mine. It seems that it was just yesterday I was sitting in the Williamson Field House getting ready to toss my graduation cap in the air.
High School Graduation is a milestone, the end of an era. From the time we turn about five years old the goal, or plan, has been at least High School Graduation. Once it has been attained many can feel lost. Some go to college, some to trade, vocational or technical school, some straight to the work force and some just sit for a while not knowing what to do. Some have their life already planned out and some are clueless as to where they want the future to lead them. But every person has a future that has been planned by God.
The Bible teaches us in Jeremiah 29:11 “ For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”. The translation for this Scripture is “11 For I know the plans that I [a]have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.”
Though the future may look scary for not only graduates but for us all, we need to remember that we can trust God with our lives. He has a Future and a Hope for us all. Outside of Him we will never find it. But if we put our little hands in His big hand then nothing is impossible. Words to live by, Dream big, for Philippians 4:13 says we can do all things through Christ Jesus whom gives us strength. Be blessed..
