KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Donald Eugene Evans, 74, of Knoxville, Tenn., formerly of Lenore, passed away Mon., March 31, 2014, at his residence in Knoxville.
Born December 24, 1939, at Lundale, he was a son of the late Oscar and Edna Maynard Evans. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Joe Evans; one son, James Michael Clay; sister, Dorothy Dixon, and brothers, Ken Evans, Frank Evans and Albert Evans.
Donald was a retired coal miner and a member of the Mountain Springs Community Church.
Survivors include one son, Gregory (Misty) Evans of Knoxville, with whom he made his home; one daughter, Robin Lynn (David) Spence of Kodak, Tenn.; grandchildren, Brandi Evans, Austin Evans, Madison Spence and Megan Spence; brothers, Bill Evans and Curt Evans, both of Chicago, Ill., Forest Evans of Abingdon, Va., and Ronnie Evans of Folkston, Ga.; sisters, Fannie Aleshire of Pomeroy, Ohio, and Carol Sue Evans of Phelps, Ky., and a host of loving family and friends.
Services will be conducted at noon Fri., April 4, at R.E. Rogers Funeral Home with Brian Dillon officiating. Burial will follow at Lenore Memorial Gardens at Lenore with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will begin after 6 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home.
