Summer brings with it much of nature’s beauty like flowers and butterflies. This Monarch butterly was captured getting some nectar from a wild bloom. Early in the season before milkweeds blossom, Monarchs visit a variety of flowers including lilac, red clover and thistles. In the fall adults visit composites including goldenrods, blazing stars, ironweed and tickseed sunflower. Their habitat includes fields, meadows, weedy areas, marshes and roadsides in Southern Canada south through all of the United States.
