Accident in Logan County kills young girl

WHITMAN CREEK - Reports say a head-on collision at Whitman Creek in Logan County Wednesday evening claimed the life of a six-year-old girl.


The tragic accident has another three- year-old girl in serious condition in Charleston Area Medical Center at Charleston.


The two young girls were in a vehicle with another juvenile girl and two women. One of the women was transported to Cabell Huntington Hospital, the other woman and the juvenile were taken to Logan Regional Medical Center for treatment. Names and conditions were unavailable.


The other vehicle was driven by a woman, whose only passenger was a juvenile. The two were also transported to Logan Regional Medical Center with injuries described as non life-threatening. Their names and conditions are currently unavailable.


None of the victims’ names have been released as of press-time on Thursday at 5 p.m. The investigation is ongoing.


The West Virginia State Police Logan detachment is investigating the accident, which happened at approximately 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
