Nominees sought for Mr. King Coal

WILLIAMSON - The Action in Mingo (AIM) group is requesting that the public nominate the person of their choosing as a candidate for the prestigious “2013 Mr. King Coal” award, that will be presented on September 21st, during the 41st annual King Coal Festival.


In order to qualify as a Mr. King Coal candidate, the individual must have worked 35 years or more in the mines or in a mining related field. The oldest applicant who meets these qualifications will be crowned as the 2013 winner.


You are asked to include the following information with your nomination:


The name, age and address of the applicant, the number of years they have were employed in the mines, their hobbies and a list of any civic organizations with which they are affiliated, and the name and contact number for the person making the nomination.


Please mail your application to: The AIM Group, P.O. Box 95, Williamson, WV. 25661. The nominations have to be received no later than Sunday, September 22nd. The person who nominates the winner will be notified prior to the King Coal Festival to assure the new Mr. King Coal will be present to accept his title.
