1st ever 5-K Walk/Run for Autism planned

KERMIT - Plans have been put into place to hold the first ever 5-K Walk/Run 4 Autism Awareness in the Town of Kermit, and the public is encouraged to participate.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 7 at the Kermit Community Park, with registration beginning at 7 a.m. The race will kick off at 8 a.m. and a $20 entry fee is being applied to all who join the effort. The runners will all receive a free t-shirt for participating and trophies will be awarded in all age brackets. Numerous door prizes will be up for grabs that were generously donated to the cause by local businesses and merchants.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Mingo County Autism Association and will stay within the county to help local children who suffer from this disease.
