HAMLIN – The Tug Valley Panthers coasted to an easy victory over Lincoln County 66-37 on Thursday night at the LCHS gym in Hamlin.


Tug Valley jumped out to a 22-8 lead after one quarter of play and led 42-20 by halftime. For the second game in a row Coach Garland “Rabbit” Thompson played many of his JV players in the final quarter.


Senior Thomas Baisden led Tug Valley with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Calvin Blankenship added 11 points and 7 rebounds. Austin Baisden chipped in 9 points, while Kyle Newsome scored 7. Hayden Sturgell had 9 points, 6 assists and 6 rebounds for the Panthers.


Jacob Ashley led LCHS with 11 points, while Schylar Kelly added 10 and Jake Reynolds 8 points.


Tug Valley was 21-53 from the floor for 40 percent, including 5-15 from behind the 3-point line. The Panthers made 9-18 at the charity stripe for 50 percent.


TVHS traveled to Roane County on Saturday. They are scheduled to play Cross Lanes Christian on Friday at home, tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
