Panthers travel to Boone County to take on Van

The Tug Valley Panthers will hit the road this week traveling to Boone County to take on Van.
The Panthers are 2-5 and now have a slim chance at making the playoffs. A win over the 3-3 Bulldogs would help their chances.
Tug Valley lost to Valley of Fayette last week at home. They have been hit with the injury bug, which happens to many teams this time of the season.
However, for a Class A team, with only about 30 kids on the roster, the depth is just not there for Tug Valley.
Sophomore fullback Phillip Lucas lead Tug Valley’s rushing attack with 82 carries for 403 yards and a pair of touchdowns (TDs).
Senior tailback David Runyon has 69 carries for 288 yards and 2 TDs, sophomore quarterback Tyler Conley 75 carries for 102 yards and 3 TDs and Justin Baisden 28 carries for 46 yards.
Aaron Copley leads the team with 15 receptions for 352 yards and 4 TDs, while Runyon has15 receptions for 210 yards and 2 TDs. Copley was injured on the first play of the game last week against Valley of Fayette.
Runyon missed two games after pulling a hamstring early in the game with Tolsia back on September 27. The senior captain missed that game and the next week, but returned last week. However, he only played on offense and did not see much action on defense.
In the Panther passing game sophomore quarterback Tyler Conley has completed 50-of-106 passing attempts for a 47.2 completion percentage for 819 yards, 8 TD and only 2 interceptions.
On defense, leading in tackles are Tyler Conley 36, Chad Hundley 33, Phillip Lucas 27, Justin Baisden 23, Jonathan Farley 22 and Thomas Baisden 20.
