Pond Creek, Big Creek, Blackberry and residents of other Belfry area communities need to congratulate the Belfry Middle School Pirates and their coaching staff for winning back to back state championship football titles.

This is quite an accomplishment for a rural school in Pike County, Ky. and the community should be very proud and excited.

This bodes well for the high school team as their feeder school continues to produce fundamentally sound players and send them on to Coach Philip Haywood and his staff.

Belfry Middle School will host a community celebration on Friday November 8 at 10 a.m. in the school’s gymnasium to celebrate the back-to-back Kentucky State Middle School champion football team. Everyone is welcome and the staff at BMS encourages fans to come out and help celebrate the accomplishments of these young athletes.
