DELBARTON - A Delbarton man has been arrested and charged with 50 counts, all of them felonies, even though some of them involved less than $10, because of the nature of the crimes.

Andrew K. Davis, 33, was arrested and charged with 49 counts of computer fraud and one count of grand larceny, according to the multiple criminal complaints filed in Mingo County Magistrate Court by West Virginia State Police Senior Trooper C.A. Douglas and Trooper D.M. Williamson.

Douglas documented in the arrest report that between the dates of Dec. 12, 2013 and Jan. 20, 2014, that the defendant allegedly used the victim’s (Elvia Lawson) Bank of Mingo Visa check card to make multiple (49) purchases from such online businesses as Amazon, Rodent-Pro, Overstock and Quadratec Essentials. The total amount of the 49 acts of theft total $2,827.40, and were electronically withdrawn from the victim’s checking account Douglas stated in the arrest report.

The complaint further states that Williams completed these purchases by using his mobile phone to access all of the online businesses, via a computer network. The purchases were made without Lawson’s knowledge or consent of Lawson, the complaint alleges.

Williams was arraigned before Mingo County Magistrate Pam Newsome and was remanded to the custody of the Southwestern Regional Jail at Holden, where he remains on a $46,000 bond.
