Sen. Byrd Exhibit opens


Kyle Lovern/WDN The ribbon cutting ceremony was held Tuesday morning to officially open the Robert C. Byrd Center for Congressional History and Education traveling exhibit. Byrd was a Senator, Statesman and famous West Virginian. The exhibit is displayed at the First National Bank of Williamson, 68 East Second Avenue. The Mingo-Pike American Association of University Women (AAUW) hosted the ribbon cutting. Members of the AAUW and local officials gathered for the official opening. Another reception will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, March 24, to celebrate the late Senator’s legacy and provide local citizens an opportunity to share memories and memorabilia.
