Apple pie bubble up

Growing up Mama always made sure we had something sweet to eat after supper or before bed. She could work wonders with a can of refrigerated biscuit dough, from donuts to fruit pies. This recipe was always one of mine and my brothers favorites, often swapping out the apple pie filling for peach or cherry pie filling. It’s especially good with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Mama had a sweet tooth like no other, so I think she made our treats just as much for her as for the family.

Apple Pie Bubble Up

21 oz. can apple pie filling

1/4 tsp. cinnamon

6 flaky jumbo butter flavored refrigerated biscuits

1 T. brown sugar

Place the pie filling in a mixing bowl. Use a fork and knife and cut up the apples into bite size pieces. Stir in the cinnamon. Take each biscuit and cut into 4 pieces and stir into the apples to coat with the filling. Pour into a lightly greased 8×8 baking dish and sprinkle the brown sugar on top. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 30-35 minutes.
