LOGAN – A Delbarton woman is back in custody after she was granted a temporary release from the Southwestern Regional Jail to attend a funeral Sunday morning and failed to report back to the jail.
Debra Lynn Jude, 39 from Delbarton, was arrested by troopers with the Logan Detachment of the West Virginia State Police (WVSP) Sunday, November 13, on the felony offense of escape from custody.
According to a criminal complaint, around 10:30 Sunday morning, Jude was granted a temporary work release from the South Western Regional Jail located in Holden W.Va. to attend a funeral for her uncle on Duncan Fork Road near Myrtle W.Va.
When granted the release, Jude was ordered to report back to the jail at 1 p.m. that afternoon. However, Jude failed to return to the jail.
Jude was located six hours later when she was discovered hiding in the residence of Kevin Gillman located on Kara Lane near Myrtle, W.Va. around 7 p.m. that evening.
Jude was transported back to the South Western Regional Jail and was arraigned before Mingo County Magistrate Jim Harvey around 10 p.m. Sunday night.
