KSP investigates armed robbery in South Williamson

SOUTH WILLIAMSON, Ky. – In the early morning hours of Monday, September 26, 2016, Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 9 Pikeville received a 911 call of a robbery at the Zip Zone Express-Fast Lane convenience store in the South Williamson, Ky. area of Pike County.

KSP Troopers quickly responded to the scene and determined that an unknown male entered the business armed with a firearm. The male brandished the weapon and demanded money. The clerk retrieved an undisclosed amount of cash, and gave it to the male before he fled the scene on foot.

The male was described as wearing a dark colored coat, black shorts, and a mask covering his face.

The Kentucky State Police is asking the public for any information relating to this case, and can call the Kentucky State Police Post 09 at (606) 433-7711. Callers can remain anonymous.

This incident remains under investigation by KSP Detective Kevin Newsome.
