CINDERELLA – The Mingo County Board of Education (BOE) approved a number of personnel actions at Tuesday’s regular meeting.
Several actions were approved under professional personnel for employment into existing positions. Nichole Blair was approved for a Special Education position at Tug Valley High School (TVHS). Courtney Boggs was approved for a librarian position. Boggs will spend half the time at Matewan PK-8 and the other half at Williamson PK-8. Several substitute teachers were approved. Those approved include: Katrina Brown, Barry Cline, Elizabeth Evans, Joseph Fields II, Kevin Hatfield, Shana Hughes, Shawn Kiser, Kayla Lucas and Rita Ward.
Three were approved for new employment into new positions. Ashley Ferguson was approved to teach first and second at Kermit PK. Sylvia Mollette was approved to teach Kindergarten at Lenore PK-8 and Jodi Sesco was approved to teach third grade at Williamson PK-8.
Two were approved to transfer into new positions. Joel Anderson and was approved to transfer to a Technology Systems Specialist position at Williamson PK-8 and LuAnn Browning was approved to transfer to a Technology Systems Specialist position at Gilbert Elementary and Gilbert Middle. Brenda Vickers was approved to transfer into an existing position in Special Education at Burch PK-8.
Two were approved for reassignment as classroom teachers. Allison Dotson Siggers was approved for reassignment in fifth grade at Kermit PK-8 and Alicia Smith was approved for reassignment in third grade at Kermit PK-8.
Resignations were approved for three individuals. Those approved for resignation include Robert Huff, Kari Jarrell and Scott Smith.
A retirement and requests for leaves of absence were approved. Fredrick Dempsey was approved to resign from TVHS. Mary Rayburn was approved for a leave of absence from an art position at Matewan PK-8. Kristi Parsley-Adams was approved for an amendment to a current leave of absence due to active military training.
Several service personnel were approved for employment into existing positions effective September 21. Chris Belcher, Kevin Bryant, Kristin DeBoard, Natashia Dove,Tammy Salmons, Brandon Sartin, Rachel Staggs and Jennings Toler were approved as substitute custodians for Mingo County Schools.
Several were approved for substitute aides for Mingo County Schools including: Kevin Bryant, Teddy Curry, Kristin DeBoard, Jonathan Dove, Victoria Evans, Rosa Hauck, Sonya Johnson, Kimberly Moore, Tammy Salmons, Codi Smith, Rachel Staggs, Sandra Varney, and Natashia White.
A number of service personnel were approved for substitute cooks including: Kevin Bryant, Alisha Canterbury, Bonnetta Davis, Kristin DeBoard, Natashia Dove, Sonya Johnson, Christie Layne, Kimberly Moore, Tammy Salmons, Rachel Staggs, and Sandra Varner.
Several were approved for substitute mechanics and general maintenance.Walter Smith was approved as substitute mechanic. Those approved for substitute general maintenance include: Kevin Bryant, Victoria Bryant, Joseph Burton, Eric Davis, Tammy Salmons, Walter Smith, and Cody St. Clair.
Crystal Canterbury and was approved for a secretary position at the Mingo County Extended Learning Center. Tammy Salmons was approved for a secretary position at the Mingo County Extended Learning Center during a leave of absence. Two substitute secretaries for Mingo County Schools were also approved. Those approved include Crystal Moore and Victoria Evans.
Three cooks were approved to transfer into existing cook positions. Those approved include: Alexis Hunt, Billie Lockard, and Donna Paterino.
Resignations for after school bus operators for the Tug Valley area were approved for Karen Evans and James Maynard.
Three service personnel requests for leaves of absence were approved. Those approved include: Crystal Canterbury, Rainella Ellis, Kevin Salmons, and Debi Sheppard.
The next regular meeting of the Mingo County BOE has been scheduled for October 18, 2016.
